Two labels do not complete the comparison
Ready and off-plan are useful starting descriptions, but they do not tell you the terms of a particular proposition. Compare the individual property, documents, timetable and intended use. A future completion date and a currently inspectable building raise different research questions. Neither label independently establishes that a proposal is suitable for your purpose.
Make the timetable explicit
For a hypothetical future-delivery proposal, record payments, expected milestones and the evidence supporting the schedule. Ask what happens if the timing changes. For an existing property, examine the actual condition, occupancy and the steps needed before your intended use can begin. A comparison becomes more meaningful when both options are placed on the same calendar rather than judged by two unrelated marketing examples.
Verify the project and the individual terms
Dubai Land Department offers a Project Status Enquiry for project completion information and details. [1] That service can address a defined project question; it does not replace reading the terms of an individual agreement. Project checks before the show apartment develops the research sequence. Record what was checked, when it was checked and which questions still require clarification.
Choose the next enquiry, not an instant winner
Use a comparison sheet for timing, commitments, evidence and unresolved items. If a possible resale forms part of the plan, read Start With Your Exit. The purpose is a clearer conversation about an actual proposal, with specialist advice when needed, rather than a universal verdict that one category always wins.
